Join us for Cinderella at Opera in the Village, an adaptation by Rob Herriot of two operas; Gioacchino Rossini’s La Cenerentola and Jules Massenet’s Cendrillon. This one-act opera is a perfect introduction to opera, and fun for the entire family.
Please note the Cinderella requires audience participation! Four children from the audience will be asked to act as ‘mice’ to help with Cinderella’s ball gown and guide her coach!

Cinderella Fun Facts
- Cinderella has appeared as a legend or folk tale in various forms and in various cultures, dating as far back as 860 AD.
- There are several English versions, a French and Chinese version and even an Egyptian version.
- Some say that the roots of the story attempt to explain night becoming day. Cinderella is seen as DAWN. She is bowed down by her cruel relations (the shadows of the NIGHT) and is delivered from them by the Prince (the SUN).
