Have fun, learn about opera and be part of the very first professional outdoor opera festival in Canada!
Calgary Opera’s Summer Opera Camp for children ages 9-14, will begin with auditions Monday, August 12, and conclude with a public performance of a “mini” version of the festival’s mainstage production, Gilbert & Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance. The camp itself will be held at Fort Calgary, Monday through Friday, with the performance on the festival grounds in East Village.
Music, scripts, costumes, props, educational materials, professional instruction and qualified supervision are all included. Just bring your self, a bag lunch and lots of enthusiasm for a truly magical experience.
Enrolment is limited to 30 participants, on a first-come-first-served basis, so register now to avoid disappointment.
Registration acceptance is not audition-based. Parts will be assigned after the first day of camp.
