On April 4, Calgary Opera hosted more than 700 patrons in the Palomino Room for another unforgettable evening of wine tasting during the California Wine Fair. The California Wine Fair started out as a single city event in Ottawa, in 1980. Now in its 27th year, the California Wine Fair is the largest national wine tasting tour in Canada. At this year’s sold out event, guests sampled more than 450 premium wines from 120 of California’s top producers – more wineries than ever before!
The range of wines included everything from products currently available in the market to new vintages and varietals that have yet to be released in the Canadian market, including some small productions. The evening was an upbeat, sparkling social event with wine tasting, conversation with the vintners, a selection of hors d’oeuvres, entertainment by DJ Mary Flavors, and a silent auction supporting Calgary Opera.
Okanogan Wine Tour Raffle Winner Announced!
Congratulations to Sippy Chhina, the winner of this year’s Grand Prize, which included a flight for two to Kelowna, rental car, accommodation, wine tours and tasting, meals, and gifts in both Kelowna and Naramata. A high-tech office chair was also included in the package.
