For Students ONly Dress Rehearsals
In an effort to help expand and inspire the creative minds of children and teenagers in Alberta, Calgary Opera is pleased to offer students the opportunity to see the final dress rehearsal of a mainstage opera in full sets, costumes, and make-up.
Calgary Opera offers Calgary and surrounding area schools the chance to see the final Dress Rehearsal of our mainstage opera productions for a greatly reduced cost at only $12 per student (maximum 1 adult supervisor for every 10 children).

This was my first opera. The voices were amazing. They sang all the time! I didn’t believe they could pull it off in that big place. I want to sing like that when I get older. The stage was like a jewel box. It was magic. Are they singing for me? They sounded cool. I loved the costumes. Wow! I like the way they showed the words on the screen so we could follow the story.
Little Women *Canadian Premiere*

Loyalty, innocence, sacrifice, family bonds and personal fulfillment are explored in this coming of age story that follows the knotted destinies of the four March sisters during the turbulent American Civil War period. Highly melodic beautifully wrought, the arias and ensembles accentuate this emotionally charged interpretation of the classic novel.
Don Giovanni

Seduction, betrayal, manipulation, amorality, arrogance, bullying: It's all in a day's work for Don Giovanni. And to Hell with the consequences. Mozart provides a rich and complex examination of pure impenitent carnal tenacity. The operas of Mozart, and especially this one, achieve greatness through the combination of memorable melodies (ones that you can whistle!) and an infectious rhythmic energy throughout.
- Groups of ten or more required
- Tickets are $12 each
- One adult supervisor free per ten Elementary / Junior High / Senior High students.
- Ratio one adult to ten students
- Adult supervisors are responsible for students while in the auditorium
- Assigned seating in 1st & 2nd balconies on based on time of booking
- Tickets must be paid for by credit card, cash or cheque before being issued.
- Study Guides (audio CD of opera highlights included) available with tickets
- All performances take place in the Jubilee Auditorium.
