Where can I order tickets?
Tickets to Calgary Opera's 2009-2010 season are on sale to the public now. To purchase tickets online for Don Giovanni, the California Wine Fair, A Taste of the Opera, or the Sunday Opera Brunch, follow the BUY TICKETS (2009-2010 Events) link in the left-hand side of this page, or contact the Calgary Opera Box Office at 403-262-7286 or in person at 1315 – 7 Street SW.
How do I renew my subscription?
If you are a 2009-2010 subscriber you will receive your 2010-2011 Subscription Renewal package, which includes everything you need to renew your seats, request a seat change, and to purchase tickets to our 2010-2011 season special events such as the Grave Gala or the Sunday Opera Brunches. You have the option of mailing your renewal form to us (a return envelope is included in your package), or you can deliver it via fax (403-263-5428), or in person. You can also renew your seats via phone at 403-262-7286 unless you are requesting a seat change. If you have a seat change request please fill in the included form and either mail or fax this to us. Seat changes are processed in the order that we receive them, so be sure to submit your request early. The renewal deadline is May 14, 2010.
How do I purchase a new subscription?
If you would like to become a subscriber you may contact us via email (info@calgaryopera.com), phone, or in-person to request a New Subscriber Package. This package will include season information, a seating map with pricing, and an order form. Please fill in the order form and include your first and second choices for seating. New subscriptions will be seated in the order that we receive them - submitting your new subscriber order form early reserves your place in line for seating.
Where do Calgary Opera productions and events take place?
Calgary Opera mainstage productions take place at the Jubilee Auditorium (1415 — 14th Avenue NW).
A Taste of the Opera events take place at the Arrata Opera Centre (1315 - 7 Street SW).
The Sunday Opera Brunches take place at the Calgary Petroleum Club (319 - 5th Avenue SW)
The California Wine Fair and the Grave Gala take place at Hotel Arts (119 - 12th Avenue SW).
What are your Box Office Hours?
Our Box Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm (closed on holidays), and on the day of the Opening Night of Little Women (Saturday, January 30, 2010), and Don Giovanni (Saturday, April 24, 2010). Our Box Office line (403-262-7286) is available 9am – 5pm.
How much do tickets cost?
Single ticket prices for the 2009-2010 season range between $33 - $140. Our full pricing is available here.
Are there student or senior discounts available?
Yes, there are senior and student discounts in select seating areas in the Jubilee Auditorium (please see our full pricing and seating map for more details). To be eligible for a senior discount you must be aged 65 or over. To be eligible for a student discount you must currently be a full-time student with valid student id.

LiveRush Calgary enables fulltime high school, college, and university students to purchase last-minute tickets to performing arts events at a greatly reduced price. Calgary Opera offers $15 tickets in the gold, silver, and bronze categories at the Jubilee Box Office one-hour prior to each mainstage performance. Do you offer group discounts?
We offer a 20% discount off the adult rate for groups of ten or more to our mainstage productions (not applicable to subscriptions or already discounted tickets). Discount tickets cannot be purchased online. To purchase discount tickets please contact the Calgary Opera Box Office.
What if I lose my tickets? Can they be replaced?
Subscription tickets can be replaced if lost. To replace lost subscription tickets phone 403-262-7286.
Can I exchange my tickets for another performance night?
Ticket exchanges for another night of the same performance can be made for subscription tickets. To exchange performance nights bring your tickets in hand to the Calgary Opera Box Office (Arrata Opera Centre, 1315 - 7 Street SW) at least 24 hours prior to the performance night of your tickets or the night you wish to exchange to, whichever comes first.
What if I can’t make any performance date of the opera?
Opera tickets make great gifts! You can always give your tickets to a family member or friend. You may also donate your ticket back to the Opera. You will receive a tax-deductible receipt for tickets that are returned 24 hours before the performance date.
What if I miss my performance? Can I exchange those tickets for another night?
We cannot exchange tickets after the performance has passed. Exchanges must be made in advance and require that we are able to sell the tickets that you cannot use. If you cannot make a performance (and you are a subscriber) it is imperative that you exchange your tickets at least 24 hours prior to the performance date on your ticket.
Can I get a refund if I miss a performance?
We´re sorry, but we do not refund performance tickets.
How can I see a dress rehearsal?
Dress rehearsals are reserved exclusively for schools (groups of ten or more) and volunteers. If you are a teacher and would like to book tickets please email eforrest@calgaryopera.com. For more information on becoming a volunteer please contact Averil Cook at acook@calgaryopera.com. |
