Synopsis:
Janáček’s The Diary of One Who Disappeared (completed in 1919) is a song cycle for tenor, mezzo-soprano, female ensemble, and piano. The cycle is operatic in nature, examining love, obsession, and the consequences of stepping outside of social boundaries. The 35-minute song cycle will be followed by a talk-back session featuring McPhee Artist and tenor Ryan Nauta, and collaborative pianist and Head Coach at Calgary Opera Emily Hamper.
