VOICE FOUNDATIONS

Voice Foundations is a free program offering vocal instruction for middle-school aged students who have shown an interest in singing and voice development, but might not have access to extracurricular instruction.

This program exists to create a community for students to learn about practical music skills and techniques, as well as to foster interpersonal and emotional skills, bringing together students from across Calgary to engage with topics ranging from vocal support and breath to dealing with performance anxiety.

Voice Foundations also serves as a way for youth with an interest in singing to access the instruction that will prepare them for further educational opportunities in voice performance and musical study.

WHAT IS VOICE FOUNDATIONS?

It’s so great you’re doing this because we wouldn’t be able to afford to put our kids in a [paid] program like this.

We’re so grateful for this, because our kids love it!

My teenager is so much more confident now, since joining this program.

Entering its’ third year, Voice Foundations programming is run by Calgary Opera Community Ambassador Dallas Hayes-Sparks. Dallas is a working professional performer, as well as a member of the Calgary Opera Chorus.
